Construction begins on IKEA site at Marsden Park
More than 320 jobs will be created when the second largest IKEA store in NSW opens at Marsden Park.
Premier Barry O’Farrell performed the ground breaking ceremony of the multi million-dollar store on Hollingsworth Road at the Sydney Business Park.The 28,500 square metre store will sit alongside Bunnings, Masters, Costco, McDonalds and Shell and will front Richmond Road, just off the M7.
“IKEA says the new store will create more than 320 jobs in western Sydney and the new Sydney Business Park development will also significantly boost the local economy through investment in new infrastructure at the site,’’ Mr O’Farrell said.

Reports the Federal Government is set to sign off on Sydney's long-awaited second airport at Badgerys Creek have been welcomed by a pro-airport community alliance in the city's west.
Federal cabinet is expected to approve the project and more than $200 million worth of transport links next week, News Corp Australia reported on Wednesday. A cabinet minute prepared by Infrastructure Minister Warren Truss is believed not to have put a final price tag on the project, which could cost $2.3 billion.

An airport in Badgerys Creek would pour $6.6 billion into the western Sydney economy, a report says. The infrastructure would inject $11.6 billion across Sydney with baseline projections indicating 3800 small businesses could be created by 2050.
