Certain Queensland regional centres are benefiting from significant investment at the Federal and State level, as outlined in the Qld Budget 2021-2022.

Toowoomba - Queensland’s largest inland City, Toowoomba is Australia's second most populous inland city and is located 100km inland of Ipswich City. Its population is over 170,000.

Significant projects driving substantial new employment underway in the region include:

Boeing Assembly Facility
•    In this Region the already established defence industry is expanding further with a first Assembly Facility for Boeing outside the United States. It is estimated the project could generate up to $1 billion for the Queensland economy over the next 10 years, while creating 300 jobs.

Inland Rail Project
•    Inland Rail is a 1,700km freight rail line that will connect Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Inland Rail will create around 2,300 jobs in the Darling Downs region.
•    The 28km Gowrie to Helidon section of Inland Rail includes constructing a new track through the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley region in Queensland and building a vast freight tunnel. The new dual gauge track will run from Gowrie, north-west of Toowoomba to Helidon, east of Toowoomba, and will include several significant viaducts and cuttings designed to create an efficient route through the steep terrain.
•    A new 6.2km tunnel will be built through the Toowoomba Range, making it the largest diameter diesel freight tunnel in the southern hemisphere.

Wellcamp Entertainment Precinct
•    A major commercial project in the 2nd half of 2021 is Wellcamp Entertainment Precinct. It is a $175 million project incorporating motorsport, driver-training and 40-000 person performing arts venue. This project will support 130 jobs during construction and up to 2,500 jobs when hosting major events.

MacIntyre Wind Farm Project
•    Spain-based energy company Acciona has received approval from the State Assessment and Referral Agency in Queensland, Australia, to build a 923MW Wind Project. The MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct will consist of the 923MW MacIntyre wind farm, which will feature 162 turbines, and the 103MW Karara wind farm, which will feature 18 turbines.
•    The A$1.96bn ($1.51bn) project, which will cover a 36,000ha area, will also include a 64km overhead transmission line linking it to the Powerlink network near Millmerran. The two wind farms are expected to create up to 400 jobs in the Southern Downs region.

With residential vacancy rates at 0.6%, this location is as good as an investment location as Ipswich, Logan and Moreton Bay
